Job Responsibilities:
You will be in responsible charge of a Survey Field Crew working primarily outdoors, working both in the sunny NW best and the inclement weather conditions this region offers while capably performing surveys with industry standard equipment. You will work daily under the supervision of the Survey Field Team Lead(s) and ultimately Furtado’s Survey Manager.

Job Responsibilities:
You will be in responsible charge of a Survey Field Crew working primarily outdoors, working both in the sunny NW best and the inclement weather conditions this region offers while capably performing surveys with industry standard equipment. You will work daily under the supervision of the Survey Field Team Lead(s) and ultimately Furtado’s Survey Manager.
Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Instruct, train, and mentor field-crew team members; check and verify the work performed by them was accomplished correctly
- Responsible for the care, maintenance, and calibration of company survey equipment and vehicles under direction of the Survey Field Team Lead(s)
- Daily office tasks often include the upload and download of survey data files, debrief to Survey Field Team Lead(s), time sheet completion verification with field-crew team members, and daily reports
- Work together with and collaborate with dedicated office survey team members, coordinate with utility locators on project sites, contact landowners regarding general presence and contact info and other coordination interactions as needed for project sites
- 4+ years of specific Land Survey experience required, with 2+ years as a Survey Party Chief desired
- Clear understanding of proper field procedures for control surveys, monitoring observations, leveling, boundary survey, rail as-built, right-of-way retracement survey, topographic mapping and ALTA survey
- Demonstrate a clear past proficiency in the collection of survey measurement data using GNSS, robotics, scanners, differential levels, measuring tapes and cameras
- Dedication to organization and communication with team
- Survey experience working on rail, highway, bridge and river focused projects is desired
- Capable of lifting and transporting up to 50lbs of equipment/supplies at a time over uneven terrain throughout the workday
- Some project sites will require dexterity to successfully negotiate and maneuver along steep slopes and across uneven terrain. The NW presents beautiful, but challenging terrain, and the Survey Field Team finds this to be both a challenge and reward.
- A clean driving record and a valid Washington State Driver’s License, or the ability to acquire one prior to employment.
- Land Surveyor-In-Training (LSIT) certification desired, but not required. We are excited to get folks on the path to their professional licensure if that is where they want to go!
- Familiarity with 3D Laser Scanning; LiDAR; GNSS/GPS (specifically Trimble); robotic total station; TBC/Trimble Access; Autodesk Civil3D; Google Earth Pro; Bluebeam Revu; MicroSurvey StarNet
