Furtado & Associates, Inc. is a leading consulting engineering, land surveying and construction management firm in Seattle, WA. We are a small, privately-held firm that works on transportation infrastructure projects throughout the Puget Sound area, including Sound Transit’s Link Light Rail Extensions and numerous projects for WSDOT and SDOT. Our busy office currently has an opportunity for a professional and experienced individual to fill the role of Survey Project Manager. In this position, the successful applicant will be responsible for all aspects of project delivery, from scope and fee development through planning, directing and monitoring the work. The Survey Project Manager will work under the direction of the Survey and Mapping Department Manager in the downtown Seattle office. Due to the COIVD-19 situation, this position will most likely begin with a remote work arrangement (i.e., working from home). This is a full time, exempt position.

Job Responsibilities:

Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Prepare scopes of work and prepare fee estimates for various surveying and mapping projects.
- Direct and supervise survey crews and CAD techs in the office regarding project requirements.
- Plan, manage and execute multiple survey projects concurrently.
- Manage deadlines to ensure that a high quality deliverable is produced on time and within budget.
- Prepare or direct preparation of client deliverables and ensure the QA/QC process has been followed.
- Ability to work in the field as needed.
- Maintain project documentation and files.
- Communicate effectively with clients, staff and company management.
- Establish and maintain excellent client relations.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- 10 or more years of experience in land surveying and mapping, including topographical, boundary and ALTA surveys.
- 2 or more years of experience managing land surveying projects for public sector clients.
- Proficient operation of Trimble GPS and Robotic Total Stations. Strong familiarity with 3D LiDAR scanners.
- Proficient in use of AutoCAD.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a proven track record of working effectively with both internal and external clients.
- Experience working with tight deadlines and able to multi-task and efficiently respond to changing priorities.
- Experience dealing directly with clients and managing projects.
- Thorough understanding of state and local regulations related to surveying.
- Licensure as a Professional Land Surveyor (PLS).
