Furtado & Associates, Inc. is a leading consulting engineering, construction management and survey firm in Seattle, WA. We are a small and privately-held firm that works on key mass transit developments throughout Washington, including the Link Light Rail Extensions and other projects that support the city’s infrastructure. Our busy office currently has an opportunity for a professional and experienced individual to fill the role of IT Technician. In this position, the successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining the network server and active directory. The IT Technician will also be the main point of contact for employees who are experiencing computer issues, as well as maintaining the integrity of all computer workstations and associated software within our office. Job Responsibilities:

Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Windows & Exchange Server administration and maintenance.
- Provide network backup integrity and recovery coordination.
- Perform hardware and software upgrades to network servers and maintain functionality & licensing.
- Document network systems, operational procedures and network topology.
- Assist personnel with installation, configuration and ongoing usability of system hardware and software.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues in person, remotely and via phone.
- Assist employees with computer problems and answer their questions. Provide training as needed.
- LAN and WAN daily administration, including system security, connectivity, stability, performance, integrity, and troubleshooting.
- Installing software, patches, security, anti-virus, security/performance monitoring and tuning.
- Maintain secure and reliable connectivity to the Internet through T1 circuit maintenance,
- Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) server configuration.
- Plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.
- Diagnose and repair or oversee the repair of hardware/software failures.
- Manage remote desktop software, ConnectWise.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- High School Diploma/Equivalent required; College level computer training (MCP) preferred.
- Ability to perform general network administration tasks including: upgrades and maintenance of hardware, software, and operating systems, Windows and Exchange Server management, user and group administration, ConnectWise, firewall and router configuration.
- Must have general understanding of enterprise directory services (Active Directory, Sun One, Novell NDS). AD is preferred.
- Experience with Cisco switches and routers, and general knowledge of cabling systems.
- Experienced using networking tools such as: Telnet, NSLookup, traceroute, ping, and port scanning.
- Must demonstrate advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office suite support.
- Must have a detailed understanding of PC hardware and components.
Desired Certifications:
- CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+ or
- Cisco CCNA, CCNP or
- Equivalent experience
